Hard Work doesn't count UNTIL you LISTEN! (NEW VIDEO)

Earlier on this morning I was on the phone with my older sister in Tanzania.
One of the first questions she asked me was about this artist I worked with & where was the VIDEO.
Each night had it's own twists & turns. We worked but still had room for fun.

My sister had seen me work rigorously with this group and everyday I came back home in the morning tired from exhaustion. No assistants, no team, just me, the camera and the artist.
This video took us almost a week to film and it has the longest story behind it but I am happy to have completed the project. We begged the people at Maisha Club to film and they let us for three consecutive nights. It was weird because

THINK LIKE A MAN: Lessons Learned (Good Movie)

Congratulations are in order...

The film Think Like A Man grossed

$33 million over the weekend +

knocked " The Hunger Games"

out of its #1 spot...

90 DAY RULE
So one of Steve Harvey's tricks for women to land a great man was to make them wait 3 months before even seeing the blessed granny panties. Agggggghhhhhhh, from a dude's perspective it's nothing but a waiting game, you basically do what's needed until you finish these silly three months. In order for the 3months rule to work, u always have to have someone to ease the anxiety of waiting. Get a friend with

LIKE ME NOW or NEVER!

I think a lot of us fall into the trap of thinking we can convince someone over time to like us.
In your heart you might think you'll be able to, but through experience this isn't the case.

Human attraction is always first physical, and the rest follows. Someone should be able to look at you and tell if they like what they see or not. Unless they are blind, then please give them time. Nothing wether it's money, ego, status or celebrity can change that. How do you know if they're attracted to you?
Easily - by asking the question straight forward.

Do you like what you see, So does my face repulse you, something to break the ICE.

Don't read body language cause they might just like you for your money, name, car, whatever.
Look at em and ask, you'll know right there & then. It'll take time but you'll find someone who'll say yes, and that's the person to keep around.

Unhealthy relationships stem from those beings who lie to themselves. Be honest at the initial step and the rest I'll solve itself out. Thinking you can win someone over will always fail time and time again. Maybe yes you do convince the person to be with you but eventually it'll fade.

Imagine someone saying, " Well .....I don't like the way you look, neither am I attracted to you but I still think we can make this thing work." WHAT'S YOUR REACTION?

Thank You!

AMINI - Ndio Unikimbie (Talented Singer)

This is a tribute to the late & great Steven Kanumba, it's just a small dose that exposes the talent that we have in Tanzania. There are yet so many talented individuals out there yet to be discovered in Tanzania.
No matter what the barriers and criticisms Kanumba just kept on going. People talked about his English, fluctuating weight, the movie quality but nothing ever got in the way of his story telling. In Tanzania the movie industry and even across Africa works with a limited budget, yes they know better but better costs. A great story doesn't need money, all it needed was great story tellers and actors like Kanumba who loved their profession.

IN SUPPORT PLEASE GO OUT THERE AND PURCHASE A KANUMBA FILM TO SEE THIS MAN'S PASSION AND TENACITY.

STEVEN KANUMBA - Passes on Easter Weekend

U've inspired soo soo soo many across the world.
Ur work speaks for itself.
Men shall pass but the name KANUMBA lives on.......
Kanumba is dead I still need to be pinched to believe this one.
Some you know personally, others just carry the torch, lighting those dark days.
On any given day you can turn on his work & feel proud to be Tanzanian.

On most occasions most of us have inspired and envied to have his success.
Like u were in awe to how & why. Am sad like Mungu Wangu it's crazy!
REST IN PEACE!

Don't Look to FIND out how he passed, just celebrate his life & his work.

VIJIMAMBO DC EVENT - 2nd Annual Gala

It started out last year, an event to show love and support to Dj Luke and the wonderful work they do at VIJIMAMBO the blog. From the Growing Up African family we had to come through to show love & support. As always we are helped by the blogging community in receiving exposure and awareness for our show. The event was great we got to meet some old friends and in turn made new companions. All in all it was a trip worth taking from NY to DC, very good times. On top of all of that they had free food, free entrance and FREE drinks! Can't beat that package.
DJ Luke, creator of the VIJIMAMBO site addressing his guests.
Brother, Andrew with Auntie Winnie from DC, visiting her Kanga Booth
Linah representing herself well before the TZ community, she sang our National Anthem.  Great Voice!
As you can see we always promote the "H" to the "M" everywhere we go.
