Dance BATTLE - AFRICANs move the BEST!
I remember a couple of days ago I was arguing with a couple of friends who kept insisting they had other places that performed better. When it comes to MUSIC and DANCING everyone should know this originated from the mother continent and we've perfected every type of dance. Yes, we have maybe copied and also adapted western ways but no one gets down like an AFRICAN. First off it's a continent so comparing an entire CONTINENT to the likes of small nations like Jamaica or even large nations like Brazil wouldn't be fair.
Just check out some of these videos and tell me we aren't the best.
MUSIC is our thing, everyone else has sports, technology, progress, money, riches whatever but don't try to COMPETE with Africans in MUSIC. It wouldn't even be right, do some research and first try to learn how many categories we have in MUSIC. Bolingo, Soukous, Bongo Fleva, Reggae, Rap the list is like 30 Deep wit genres

AFRICAN THEME - NYC Party for Jesca's BDAY (Crazzy Turnout)
This was a NITE to remember, the most difficult part was to let a person like JESS approve a budget to be able to party like we wanted to. Balling on a budget is never fun! We were able to meet in the middle and did not spend too much. At this event people showed up from every corner, from DC to Ohio all the way even from Texas. Everyone was delightfully dressed in their top African wear and as the nite passed they changed clothing to throw down. Anywhere, where kuna wabongo it's guaranteed you have to start MDUARA for them to get hyped. As a DIASPORA for the TZ Community the best example we can serve for people back home is showing unity. Maybe politics and business isn't our best endeavor but just by simply getting together and having fun, gives our people back home HOPE & HEART. People miss BONGO, meeting up gives you a little bit of that back.

Damaged CAMPUS with BROKEN WINDOWS showing students displeasure |
I just read this article it's actually in SWAHILI.
These kids are gangsta and much respect to them.
I think when matters get to this point the FACULTY is at fault.
One student doing something terrible is one thing,
a small group is always common but the entire campus?

The World's Most Expensive Places to Live 2012 (ANGOLA city #2?)
Ps: This list is for foreigners who work and live in a country for an extended period of time. Not based on citizens or the locals who can afford cheaper options based upon know how, like housing, safety etc
1. Tokyo, Japan
Photo: Hiroshi Higuchi/Getty ImagesTokyo is the most expensive place to live in the world for expatriates and is one of three Japanese cities to make the top 10 list this year.
The city has risen from the number two spot last year and has been ranked either first or second for the past five years. While the cost of renting in Asia’s most expensive city has remained relatively the same, the cost of other goods like a cup of coffee, fuel and a fast-food meal has gone up over the past year. By comparison, Tokyo is about one-third more expensive than Karachi, which is the least expensive city for expats among the 214 cities surveyed by Mercer.
As Japan’s most important economic center, Tokyo is the most desirable place for expats to live in. But the city's real estate market is expected to be hit by shrinking demand from expatriates in 2012 due to corporate cost-cutting and downsizing, according to Knight Frank.
Monthly Rent, Luxury 2 Bedroom: $4,848
Cup of Coffee: $8.29
One Gallon of Gasoline: $7.34
Daily International Newspaper: $6.38
Fast-Food Meal: $8.29

Growing Up African - And WE'RE BAAAAAACCCCCCCCCCKKKKK!
SEASON 2 PREVIEW
Hello to everyone out there from Dar es salaam to Nairobi to Kampala and abroad in the States, Europe also Asia.
Since last year, people have been buzzing and talking about this new reality show that just transcends several barriers.
"Growing Up African" was an idea based upon a Tanzanian family. In this family are five siblings and a mother but their struggles,
personalities and attitudes can reflect the lives of any African household.
PREZZO from Kenya wa BIG BROTHA! Nice Track
On Big Brotha Africa he's seen as maybe a VILLAIN but this talented Kenyan artist in my opinion has been representing his country in a major way. Apart from creating some of the greatest clips on WORLDSTAR and Youtube, he's managed to make a few GREAT tracks.
BIG UP PREZZO, can't vote but we hear you even in NY!

NEW VIDEO - Chidi Benz ft Tinah "Kila Napokuona"
And guess who DIRECTED this entire masterpiece. It was a great shoot, CHIDI is the consummate professional. He knew exactly what he wanted and how he wanted to be portrayed so it made my job that much easier. This video was recorded less than two weeks ago and within that time period it's already out. Usually I am able to record, edit and deliver the video within a week or so but this song needed that much more time to look the part. It was a long shoot that evening, lasting from 6pm to almost the morning but everyone was a trooper and we got all the necessary shots. Thanks to CHIDI for giving me the opportunity to do my job and I hope everyone is happy with my work. Everyday is a learning lesson and am just trying to set the bar higher & higher each time.

GREAT COLLABO - FALLY IPUPA na OLIVIA

FLAVIANA donates 500 LIFE JACKETS in remembrance of fallen victims in FATAL MV Bukoba accident 16 years ago.
I remembered when this happened I was on break from school in Bukoba and it was chilling just seeing the pictures and hearing the news of floating dead bodies everywhere. Taking these ferries at that time was the best way to travel to Dar es salaam. You got on the ship overnight and either booked a flight, train or bus to head to Bongo. For women and children you had no option but just to follow orders but I hope this brings light to safety standards everywhere. Nowadays it's the crowded buses that cause several fatalities but it's nice to see her going back and remembering the victims. She lost her mother in this tragedy so it's a CAUSE that impacts her each and everyday. Pole!
MV Bukoba was a Lake Victoria Ferry that carried passengers and cargo between the Tanzanian ports of Bukoba and Mwanza. On 21 May 1996 she sank with great loss of life, reported as up to 1000 passengers drowned.
MV Bukoba was built in about 1979 and had capacity for 850 tons of cargo and 430 passengers[1]. The manifest showed 443 passengers in her first and second class cabins, but her cheaper third class accommodation had no manifest.
Flaviana during the rememberance ceremony with officials paying homage to the fallen victims and also receiving life jackets that would make a great difference in case of another incident |
Possible causes were identified by Captain Joseph Muguthi, formerly a captain in the Kenya Navy. He labelled it an accident waiting to happen, as Lake Victoria ferries disregarded safety regulations. Specifically:
- lack of life jackets, life rings and life boats
